Practical tools to build character and well-being among faculty, staff and students.

Psychological services using evidenced based approaches to help clients flourish.

Bringing Science and Practical Application Together

I am passionate about using evidenced based approaches to help my clients’ not just meet their goals but truly flourish. I am on a mission to decrease the startling statistics regarding depression, anxiety and suicide among our youth by taking the science of Positive Psychology and blending it with practical application.

Suicide is the second leading cause of death among young people in our country and the World Health Organization predicts that by the year 2030, depression will be the leading cause of disease burden globally. Depression and anxiety are rampant among our youth. It is time we become proactive and not just reactive to this problem.

Students spend 30+ hours a week in school. I believe we need to be proactive and make well-being and character development as important as academic achievement. In fact, research supports that by teaching students these skills, academic achievement goes up and depression and anxiety goes down.

Whether you are looking for a Psychologist to help you flourish as an individual or an academic institution wanting to bring the principles of well-being and character development to your school, I would love to help you accomplish your goals.

What is PERMA + HR2 ?

PERMA is a theory of well-being that was developed by Dr. Martin Seligman; Psychologist, educator, and father of Positive Psychology. The elements of well-being have been researched and practical tools have been developed to help people obtain higher degrees of well-being in their life, with the ultimate goal of helping people flourish. I have added the elements of HR2 to the model because I believe, and research demonstrates, that Health, Responsibility and Resiliency are important factors that contribute to our well-being.
